A Little Kodak History

Author: LoveMyPhotos August 21, 2008

A Little Kodak History Hi Snap, I did some research on Kodak Digital Photo Frames and here’s what I found out. Hope it’s helpful. I found it all very interesting, I hope you do too!

George Eastman, founder of Eastman Kodak Company, was born July 12th, 1854. He was the youngest of 3 children. Eastman brought his first photographic outfit at the age of 24. He though the whole process was extremely complicated and sought to simplify the method of taking and developing photographs. He invented many cameras and types of film.

In 1888 George Eastman introduced the first simple camera to the world of consumers with the slogan “you press the button, we do the rest”. This made taking pictures accessible to nearly everyone. The most popular camera is the first Kodak Brownie, introduced in February 1900, which revolutionized the world of technology. George Eastman took his own life March 14th, 1932 after battling a progressive disability. He was 77 years old. Luckily his technology lives on. Kodak continues to expand the ways images touch people’s daily lives.

I love memory books, too!In 2000, Kodak first launched the Kodak Smart Picture Frame on the QVC shopping channel, which retailed for $349.00. It was designed by Weave’s StoryBox online photo network. The Kodak digital photo frame could hold 36 images internally.

In 2007 Kodak introduced 4 new EasyShare digital photo frames that were available in sizes from 8 to 11 inches. These frames included multiple memory card slots and some of which included wi-fi capability to connect with the Kodak Gallery.

Kodak is introducing more Easyshare digital photo frames. They include 2 new wireless, 2 new multimedia, and 2 new photo digital frames. Check them out!

Time travel…what an interesting concept.  Speaking of stepping back in time 170 years…. Can you imagine the look on someones face if you pulled a digital photo key chain out of your pocket and at the push of a tiny little button it displayed a digital slide show?  The look on people’s faces would be priceless and very intertaining!170 years is not that long ago but look at how far we have come. Even just going back 30 years in time people would still be amazed at how technology has advanced.  Taking pictures has never been more fun.  What if we could travel 50 years into the future?  I bet we would be amazed what we could do with our photos then.  For me, I will keep snapping and enjoying everything new that comes out that makes saving memories more and more enjoyable.

Looking back in time…

American’s are very busy. Most of us have trouble taking time to “smell the roses”.  We seem to always be in a hurry. There are never enough hours in the day!  Can you imagine stopping to take a quick snap shot of the kids 170 years ago. It just wouldn’t be possible! Taking a photograph was a planned event.

I find digital photography rewarding and fun!  Getting to see your picture as soon as you snap it is incredible!  Being able to make corrections, print, or send it over the computer to another person as soon as you take the picture is great. Even more rewarding is going from camera to frame in a matter of seconds and having your work displayed in a slide show on your wall or desk, simply by sliding a memory card into a digital pciture frame!  It just gets better and better!

Caveman drawingMankind has always had a love of the beauty the world has to offer and has always seeked ways to preserve it. Caveman Art is very simple pictures. It is the earliest form of artwork known to mankind. History shows cavemen liked painting their “photos” on the walls of thier caves with drawings while today we place our photos on the walls in digital photo frames.

The invention of digital photography demanded a need for a better way to display our caveman art 2pictures. Along came the digial photo frame which displays digital photos without the need to print them or use a computer. You can simply remove the memory card from your digital camera and insert it directly into your digital photo frame.  Just turn the frame on and you have an instant slide show. If you don’t own one of these great devices you owe it to yourself to get one!
